Welcome to The Cowden Trust

The Cowden Trust is a community based trust established to help strengthen the bonds between Cowdenbeath Football Club and the local community, endeavouring to encourage a re-inforced pride and pro-active commitment to the town and community.

Cowdenbeath is a town that has evolved through being one of the central areas where the coal mining industry was at its strongest. The Football Club, borne from the miners who had a pride and determination from working in the local pits playing and watched their local team always. There was a close relationship forged with the club and the local community and surrounding areas as the club was effectively run by local businessmen and, in the early days, having a team including brothers from 3 or 4 coal mining families.

Those days are now in the distant past with the economy and technology changing at a fast pace. The Cowden Trust are looking to focus on the present and the future; whilst retaining those instilled virtues by trying to bring the community and the Football Club closer together and working for the mutual good of the town.

We believe that whilst times have changed, the passion and pride of the people of this town can be harnessed and focused into something that can make a difference. You can help us make that difference by joining the Trust and becoming involved in some of our activities.

With the recent news regarding the current situation at Central Park concerning the future of Cowdenbeath Football Club, the Trust are actively involved in a supporters cooperative to endeavour to ensure that there is a future for the club.
